An article over at BoingBoing piqued my interest this week about Four Deadly Distasters Caused by Food.
The London Beer Flood in 1814 killed eight people and spilled 3,500 barrels of beer. That’s an artists sketch to the left there of one of the vats before it ruptured.
I think it’s pretty apt to remember this tragedy in the lead up to Father’s Day this weekend in Australia – where a few too many ‘barrels’ of beer will no doubt be drunk!
Can you think of any other food-related disasters? Murbah Swamp Beer springs to mind, LOL.
