Mushroom Mania round up #24

The other week I posted the first round up of restaurant reviews for Mushroom Mania and here is the second instalment.

Selected bloggers all across Australia have been visiting restaurants and posting about the amazing mushroom dishes they have eaten. You can join in too and win a $150 dinner at your favourite local restaurant. Scroll to the end of this post for more details.

For now, let’s get straight into it with two reviews from a great Sydney blog – Souvlaki for the Soul. Peter has been to Pendolino Restaurant and eaten the gorgeous mushroom risotto pictured above.

Then he headed down to Cru 54 to enjoy two mouth-watering mushroom tapas dishes. Definitely a place I want to check out myself now.

Next we’re moving onto Brisbane with Claire K Creations and this tasty sauteed mushroom starter at Mario at The Dining Room.

Pine nuts and mushrooms – be still my beating heart! The Food Pornographer has sniffed out another awesome restaurant in WA – The Witch’s Cauldron.

The third and last review from Footscray Food Blog was a spectacular mushroom from Vicolo Risotto Bar – yep, you read that right – a whole restaurant dedicated to risotto, very cool!

Sadly, this dish was less than perfect. She Cooks She Gardens was quite disappointed with her burnt gnocchi at The Kings Head – a real shame as she usually rates this place as a top lunch spot in Adelaide.

The Hungry Australian was true to her name and gobbled up this delectable breakfast dish at The Pot in Adelaide. I agree that mushrooms and ricotta are pretty delicious match.

Yours truly took her family for breakfast at Perci Cafe in Stanmore, Sydney and discovered a revelation of the eggs benedict and mushroom combo! Yum!

Last but not least – wow – mushroom stuffed zucchini flowers! Why on earth have I not thought of that before? This cracker of a dish was enjoyed by Delicieux at Brett’s Wharf in Hamilton, QLD.

    Such great ideas, love the zucchini flowers for sure! I just visited a mushroom farm in Queensland and was drooling over the big sheds of perfect buttons :)

    mmm…love this post dedication to mushrooms. I have to say they really are amazing…and sometimes make me think I can go vegetarian! I did a wild mushroom and truffle gnocchi…heavenly! That mushroom risotto looks so good too, think I’ll give it a go.
