I’m feeling a little sad today because a large group of my Sydney food blogger pals went to an event on Wednesday night – the Taste Festival Media Launch.
I was invited to go, but as you know I’m currently in the UK on a work trip, so could not attend. The good news is that the actual event is in March so I’ll definitely be back to enjoy it.
The Taste of Sydney Festival is a brand new food and drink event showcasing the very best of Sydney’s talented chefs and their restaurants’ signature dishes. You’ll get to meet the chefs and taste their food – need I say more to convince you to attend?
Embarrassingly, I’ve only eaten at 1 of the 15 featured restaurants that were at the launch, but I suppose that’s a good thing because I’ll be trying their gorgeous food at the festival on March 12th-15th anyway.
I’m especially looking forward to hopefully meeting George Francisco from Jonah’s and Martin Boetz from Longrain. They’re such talented, creative and passionate chefs.
The media launch was attended by some of Sydney’s best food bloggers, including; Suze, Lorraine, Helen, Billy, Minh and Ram, Jen, Reem, Lisa and Mel. Click on their names to check out their sites and see their reviews and photos of the event.
I’m hoping to head into London tomorrow night so I’m crossing my fingers the trains are running. There’s meant to be more snow tonight though so I don’t like my chances. Please be kind Mother Nature!
If I do make it in I’ll be meeting the lovely Helen from Food Stories, Lizzie from Hollowlegs, Caitlin from The Gooseberry Fool and Chris from Cheese and Biscuits for a big BBQ feast at Bodean’s in Soho. You might remember I’ve reviewed it before.
Last night Dillon and I managed to make it into London to dine with our friends Shell and Huw at St. John at Spitalfields – amazing! I highly recommend it. We had potted hare, quail, mallard legs with parsnip puree, mutton with purple sprouting broccoli and pheasant. No room for dessert, obviously!

I’m glad you loved St.John. Myself, Lizzie and Chris did too! Hopefully we will be able to meet tomorrow night, I still haven’t been to Bodean’s and it will be great to catch up.
Sorry you had to miss the media launch but we’ll see you at the festival itself-YAY!
You are so lucky! I wished it snowed here hee hee stay warm and don’t get snowed in ^^!
@Helen – The weather is looking pretty dire. Not sure if I’ll be able to make it tonight :(
@Lorraine – Yes, the festival will be so fun if we go together!
@Ffichiban – Snow is quite cool, unless you have a date and can’t make it! LOL.
