Snowed in with bare cupboards!10

Posted on February 6, 2009 by ChristieTravel Stories

[The view from my apartment right now. So windy and snowy!]

Snow is cool, but not when the cupboards are bare! We need to get our coats on and head to Sainsbury’s for supplies.

It’s only a 5 minute walk away but I think we’re going to get covered in snow. The things we do for food… I think it’s braising or soup weather. What do you think?

I’m really cold, Christie x

Would love a vote if you get a chance. Go on, I’ll be your best friend…. :)

  • I don’t know if I’d rather have that snow or the 44°C day that’s predicted for Sydney’s West on Sunday!

    That photo makes me wanna curl up with a hot soup :)

  • We have a similar view from our window, too. I vote for lentil soup and beef daube.

    And now it’s started to snow again. I suspect I shall be drafted into building another snowman…

  • Oh! It looks really hazardous! Good luck! Surprise us with your winter wonderland creation.

  • I would go for take-away =)

  • What a winter wonderland ^^! Perfectly for cuddling up in front of a fireplace with a hot choc (+ marshmellows of course), a blankie and Calvin and Hobbes!

  • Y

    Wow what a lot of snow! To be honest, I’d happily swap. At least when it’s cold, you can put more layers on.

  • I hope you’re keeping warm darling :) Meanwhile we’re going to experience the hottest ever weekend which is also a bit scary!

  • You can make it girl! And while you’re out, pick up the makings for hot chocolate so when you come back and are wet and freezing, you can whip some up and feel better in no time.

  • @Karen – I can’t decide if I like hot or cold either! I guess I’ll let you know when I get home next week.
    @Mmmm, beef daube. Good choice!
    @Peter G – Unfortunately I’m not doing much cooking while I’m here :(
    @Pigpigscorner – No-one’s delivering in this weather! And most of the restaurants were shut because people couldn’t get to them. Crazy!
    @FFichiban – There was hot chocolate of course! :)
    @Y – Yes it’s lovely to rug up and cuddle.
    @Lorraine – Best of luck keeping cool. At least you look good in your bikini.
    @Joie de vivre – Hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream of course :P

  • The photo out your window is gorgeous and makes this girl jealous! I have been praying for snow for a month now but no snow in sight!

    The one good thing about heading out to the grocery store in that weather, though, is the thought of coming home, stripping down to a cozy pair of jammies or sweats and settling in with a cup of cocoa and some cookies.
