Mix My Muesli: Fig & Cherry mix6

Posted on January 31, 2011 by ChristieTaste Tests

Do you have a new years resolution to eat more healthy foods?

Great, I’ve got just the website for you. It’s called Mix My Muesli.

Last year I saw a post about this fantastic new site on The Little Lioness (thanks Fiona!) and I immediately sent the link to my mother in law who is always looking for good gluten free muesli.

If you’re like me, then you’re always on the look out for the perfect muesli mix. But can never find it.

At Mix My Muesli you can make the perfect mix; Choose your base (oats, wheat etc), add nuts, dried fruit or naughty treats like choc chips and then they mix it up for you and post it straight to your door.

Ding dong, breakfast is ready!

Of course I had to get creative and make up a Fig & Cherry mix! My perfect ingredients were:

  • Rolled oats
  • Bran straws
  • Rolled wheat
  • Sunflower kernels
  • Poppy seeds
  • Coconut flakes
  • Organic wild dried figs
  • Dried sour cherries
  • Roasted hazelnuts

I have been devouring it with fresh passionfruit, white nectarines and full-fat greek style yoghurt (as per pic above). Delish!

I’d love to hear what combination you mix up – let me know in the comments.

Happy mixing, Christie x

  • Thanks for the shout out! I love ordering muesli online! Gotta try the gluten free ones now!

  • I’m not a huge muesli person but your combo makes me want some now =D

  • I love muesli and have given up on buying that perfect mix as I’m convinced it’s not out there. Instead I’ve been mixing up my own for quite a while now and I vary it a fair bit each time – depends a lot on what dried fruit I have leftover from other cooking ventures (currently finishing some dried sour cherries and a few medjool dates I bought for another purpose before they get past their use-by date). I start with oats and bran straws and generally add some dried shredded coconut and a mix of toasted sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and slivered almonds. It’s quite good fun (and cheaper, even with the more expensive ingredients) making your own than buying.

    • I haven’t tried making my own at home yet – I guess that will be next! You’re right though, it’s much cheaper and much more satisfying to mix your own perfect combo :)

  • I actually ordered some Mix My Muesli myself last week, after having trouble finding a mix in the supermarket that I liked.
I did have an issue with my order, and had to refunded and sent another batch, but it was OK in the end.

I find a half and half mix of my Mix My Muesli blend and table of plenty velvet vanilla is just perfect for me ;)

    • Wow, that is a super custom mix combining two different ones together!
