Thanks so much for this story, haha pink pee, love it! I have a lot to look forward to trying to get children to eat my food… still a few years yet!

I think you’re doing fantastically getting your boys to eat peas and celery – I hear kids are a bit adverse to ‘green’ stuff. And five of them too – you’re a saint!

Let me know if the boys eat the dip!

Normally this dish would have two major strikes against it in this house. Strange veggie (by strange I mean anything not peas, carrots and celery) and pink. (I have five sons who think anything pink will turn them into girls which is obviously the worst thing that could ever happen to anyone, right?) I do think, though, that I could pull this off. First, it’s a dip. Second, it’s made of beets. I got them to eat an entire bowl of roasted beets once by telling them if they ate a sufficient amount they would pee pink. (Somehow if you pee pink it doesn’t make you a girl…)

I’m going to hop over to the farm market to try this. It’s so yummy looking!

That’s a fantastic idea – beetroot and chickpeas would be great together… I agree about the white clothes – my kitchen was a mess after this and it stains too!

For all of us that don’t have yoghurt makers – it works beautifully with store bought Greek style yoghurt! ;)
