Slow down, recharge, refresh11

Posted on June 26, 2013 by ChristieNorthern Rivers Stories

Last week my mobile phone died. It turned itself off and started flashing the apple symbol. Deary me, it was a very sad sight.

It happened the day after my husband left for an overseas trip. He’s gone for three weeks, and I am just under 6 weeks away from giving birth to my second child.

Talk about bad timing.

Instead of getting upset, I’m taking it as a sign from the universe to unplug, slow down and relax. I’m notorious for putting too much on my plate (in life and at the dinner table), so I’m really forcing myself to pay attention to any signs that might indicate I am stretching myself too thin (no¬†pregnancy¬†pun intended!).

I still have a few projects on the go that I need to finish up, but new blog posts here are now on hold until baby is born. I’m also trying to switch off from social media so I won’t be active on there either. If you really miss me then do send me an email via my contact form as I can’t be completely disconnected!

Otherwise, I’ll see you back here in early August when I’ve finished cooking up this bubba with lots more yummy recipes to share!

Need more now? Browse my recipe archives here. Enjoy.

  • Dear Christie, I think you are very wise. I am glad to hear that you are looking after yourself and bub no 2 – nothing is more important than that and everything else can wait. I honestly believe that a happy and rested mumma makes for a happy and rested kid – my two pregnancies couldn’t have been more different and my kids are, too! ;) I wish you all the very best for the coming weeks

    • Thanks Christina, always nice to get reassurance about making big decisions! You are right, there’s nothing more important than the health and happiness of my family so it’s time to rest up :)

Priorities. Priorities. My suggestion would be to enjoy the down time before the impending up time. Relax (as much as possible). Focus on important things and cherish those closest to you. It is a great time to remember what life is all about. Take care….

  • Best of luck with it all Chrstie. Hope your hubby is home now. Good idea to switch off and concentrate on baby. Look forward to seeing a photo.
