Yesterday was my 5th wedding anniversary. I booked a table at a gorgeous restaurant in Byron Bay, but we never got there.
I didn’t mention in my last post, but I’ve had a bad cold for the past week and now I’ve given it to hubby. I gave him such a good dose of it that he was too sick to go out to the restaurant last night.
Don’t worry, I’m not upset. We can just reschedule for next weekend and it doesn’t matter to me as I’ll still get my fancy meal eventually!
I’m more interesteed in reminiscing about my wonderful wedding day and more specifically, my amazing wedding cake.

This beautiful masterpiece was made by the talented Jon Perkins from Crumbs! Cake Art and made me beyond happy on my special day.
There were four layers of cake in four flavours: fruit, Bailey’s white chocolate, passionfruit and dark chocolate. All the flowers were individually crafted with sugar and were deliciously edible.
My favourite bit? Jon weaved fairy lights in between the flowers that were powered by a tiny battery pack cleverly covered with white fondant and hidden behind the cake. If you look closely at the pic below you can see the one black cord peeking through.

In the darkened function room, the cake glowed with beauty… absolutely amazing!
And even though we’ve been too sick to celebrate this year, I can still say that we are as happy together as we were on our brilliant wedding day 5 years ago, and looking forward to many more!
I’ll be back soon once I kick this cold for good – chat to you soon!
