Travel Stories

Around the world in… a life time! Stories from my various travels, mostly edible.

In 2009, hubby and I embarked on a trip of a lifetime, visiting 26 cities in 6 months. I’ve posted a lot of our adventures, but there are still so many in the archives plus more trips to come!

-4 degrees and still smiling

Posted on February 2, 2008

Well, we’ve touched down in the UK and headed to the very windy city of Milton Keynes. Today’s temperature is 5 degrees, but thanks to the freezing Antarctic wind, it feels more like -4.

This weather has forced salads and ice cream from my mind; I’m craving soup, mashed potatoes and sweet hot chocolate. But before you get up and leave this blog (especially if you’re in the middle of an Aussie summer) I promise not to have stodgy food on the menu for the next three months. Honestly.

In fact, I’m looking forward to finding some great gems for you at local farmers markets and the wonderful Borough and Spitalfield markets in London. My next delicious recipe is just around the corner… see you soon.

Happy eating, Christie

A reason, not an excuse

Posted on January 21, 2008

I’d like to say sorry to you all for not posting anything for quite a while.

I have a very good reason.

I’ve just had the wedding and honeymoon of my dreams – so I’ve been a tiny bit too busy to attend to this blog.

Good news though, I’m back! So expect lots of new recipes, reviews and thoughts coming your way. I’ve been to Bangkok, Koh Samui and Phuket, so asian flavours are at the forefront for the near future. Also, I’m heading to London next week and am looking forward to reviewing lots of pubs and restaurants for you, accompanied by photographs taken on my new little camera. (My husband bought it for me!)

I hope you’ll visit often to check it all out. Chat to you soon.

Happy cooking, Christie
