Breakfast

I’m a BIG breakfast fan. As an early riser I seriously enjoy preparing myself a strong cup of tea and a healthy and delicious breaky to fuel my day. My favourite dishes include either eggs or a fruit, yoghurt and nut combo.

Sweet, savoury, healthy or indulgent. Be sure to start the day with your favourite flavours using one of my easy recipes.

Have you been enjoying my Monday posts with breakfast dishes featuring avocado? I’ve been loving coming up with them!

The breakfast pizza is particularly going off on Pinterest and the avo with pesto combo has been a hit too.

Today I present you a scrumptious stack with three ingredients that are the very best of friends; corn, avocado and bacon. A threesome match made in heaven, if you will! (more…)

Pizza for breakfast? Yes please!¬†And even though this is a rather healthy version of pizza, it’s still a super fun way to start your day.

Avocado and smoked salmon are such good friends in the flavour department; the creaminess of the avocado is perfectly complemented by the salty, smoky fish – and when they’re combined with a runny egg yolk and earthy kale there’s absolutely no way your day will be anything short of fabulous. I promise! (more…)

Avocados, how do you eat them?

I’m a big fan of them at breakfast with eggs or mushrooms. Or simply slathered onto toast with vegemite. I just find them so easy to grab and use.

I guess it really helps that the Northern Rivers region is absolutely brimming with avocado farms as well as locals growing and selling them out the front of their properties at honesty stalls.

They are so abundant that I simply cannot imagine my kitchen without them.

Chai porridge with banana {vegan, nut-free}

Posted on May 15, 2013

I’m a bit boring when it comes to porridge. I like to top mine with sea salt, brown sugar and banana. In that exact order.

Very occasionally I will grate in an apple and throw in a few sultanas. Or make some warm caramelised pears to sit on top. Read more about my exact method in a previous post here*.

Today, however, I’ve branched out. I’ve made a flavour combo I’ve been wanting to try for a long time – but can never get past my old standby favourites. (more…)

Is it just me or has everyone gone smoothie mad?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not having a go at them/you, I love a good smoothie as much as the next chick. It just seems like the blogosphere has erupted with smoothie recipes left, right and centre.

I’m not imagining it. Am I?

Anyway, bring it on people. Or should I say, whizz it up people. And yes, do include all the latest trendy super foods like kale and chia seeds, so they can become more mainstream and we can all glow and glow and glow with health…

Hang on, I’m off track. Let’s chat about this smoothie. (more…)
