RIP Tastespotting. Hello Foodgawker!

By now, you’ve probably heard about Tastespotting shutting down.

When I discovered it my jaw hit the floor and I almost cried. I loved that site. Not just because it sent me loads of traffic but because it gave me a little food porn hit every single day without fail. All in one place. It was a serious feast for the eyes that I thought could never be matched…

Fig & Cherry’s a moviestar (almost)

This year I’m working on video posts of some of my recipes. Some other food bloggers already do this, most notably, Katy at Sugarlaws who has two super cute ones under her belt already, check them out here and here.

But before I indulge you with my gorgeous Aussie accent, I found a really cool website called Animoto. The guys there have developed a very clever web application that ‘feels’ the music then edits, directs and applies motion design to suit. (more…)

OK, I’ll tell you – $10. Cheap, huh?

I got all these tasty morsels from my local Asian grocery. I was very excited when it opened recently, but haven’t had a chance to check it out. So you can imagine my surprise when I got to the counter and was told that all I had to pay was $9.99 – my eyes opened really wide and I turned to The Bear grinning from ear to ear like some sort of Cheshire cat. I was pretty darn happy with myself for finding this wonderful (and cheap!) treasure trove. (more…)
