These stories vary from bizarre to extremely personal; delicious little morsels from around the globe that I think you might be interested in.
Here I also chat about developments with the blog, new sponsorships and partnerships with brands and flashy events I attend – such as the unforgettable Masterclass with Tetsuya Wakuda!
Today I did something really fun; I watched two episodes of Ready Steady Cook being taped with the new host Colin Lane!
I got to sit in the front row with fellow-blogger Liss from Frills in the Hills and then taste the food at the end. You know those lucky few that run up while the credits are rolling and get stuck in? That was me!
I know the photo above is a bit dorky, but hey, I had to do it. Not sure what I was doing with that hand on the left – it looks a bit hobbit-like! (more…)
It’s always a little nerve-wracking attending an event where you don’t know anyone. However, I just love networking and meeting new people, so I shrug off my nervousness and just go for it.
Meeting other passionate food lovers (famous ones!) is always a thrill, and even better still when they are as excited to meet me as I am them. Let me explain…
A few weeks ago I attended an event at the gorgeous Zeta Bar at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney. If you need a good date place, the Zeta Bar is it – find the room with the fireplace and warm up one of these chilly nights with someone sexy. But I digress.
The event was held by Unilever Food Solutions who have just released the findings of a global survey they are calling: The World Menu Report.
Could there be a better combination for a warming winter meal than duck and a glass of pinot noir? I think not!
If you live in Sydney (or can get there) you are in for a treat during July. Seven different restaurants will be featuring a duck dish with a glass of Cloudy Bay 2009 Pinot Noir from the 1st to the 31st.
Last week I had the extreme pleasure of trying three of dishes… during one lunch session! Indulgent, I know. Don’t worry, I had a vegetarian dinner that night. (more…)

If you are a Flemington Direct customer then you know something funny has been happening for the past few weeks. There have been several weird emails saying they have ceased trading and that they will be starting up a new business called Flemington Fresh. Peppered in between were emails about data (in)security, a recommendation of another vegetable delivery service as well as a personal phone call from a staff member apologising for them closing down. What a mess! (more…)
With all the sweet stuff that has been sent to me lately, it was with some relief that I opened up a package filled with five tea bags.
Twinings recently gave a tea blending kit to 40 celebrities and asked them to come up with their own signature tea that will be mass produced and sold as ‘Australian Afternoon Tea’.
The top 5 entries for the competition were (in no particular order); Kevin Rudd, Kerri-Anne, Alan Jones, Layne Beachley and John Williamson – see picture above!
Hubby and I taste tested them all and my favourite was Kerri-Anne’s (citrusy and very ‘girly’) and his was John Williamson’s (smokey and ‘manly’, ha!). How completely stereotypical! (more…)
