speltbread

Bread is my new cooking obsession.

It’s not something I have chosen to become obsessed with. However, as I am realising more each day, your children lead you down learning paths to new wisdom.

Whether you want to go or not.

My daughter’s restricted eating is a challenge I relish most of the time. But on the difficult days I tear my hair out in despair and hope that another brilliant idea (like this bread) is just around the corner.

Parenting a child with autism is a roller coaster like that. And food is just the tip of the iceberg*. (more…)

bliss-balls

My little girl is a super fussy eater. It’s both her age (3.5) and her sensory issues (autism). So instead of always forcing her to eat nutritious foods, I hide them in treats. That’s not to say I never offer healthy foods, the opposite is true.

me n pop

You are going to learn a few new things about me today. I suggest you go and grab a cup of tea, cos this might take a few minutes.

As you know, I don’t often share deeply personal things on this blog, it is mostly just pretty food and occasional baby pics. But that is going to change, and I hope you are OK with that.

My life has changed dramatically in the last 12 months and I haven’t shared any of it here. For my blog friends and readers all over the globe, I’m sorry for that – because after all, that’s what blogging is all about. Sharing.

I have just been conscious about keeping this a ‘food blog’, but it’s now going to evolve into more of blog about my family and life on the northern rivers. Don’t worry, there will still be food, lots of it, so don’t click away just yet. (more…)
